Nike Sole

Today we will talk about that large minority that despite having suffered a major setback in their lives, have continued to pursue their dreams and have left sports aside. I am referring to disabled athletes, in this case speak more specifically of those who have lost one of his legs. Nike launched a shoe specially designed for people who have lost a leg . The technology has been developed in conjunction with I- ssur Icelandic company , specializing in orthotics and prosthetics and inspired by the extraordinary athlete Sarah Reinertsen , who lost his left leg at age 7.

Despite having lost one of his legs at the age of seven years , Sarah Reinertsen set their goals in sports from a young age , and has shown that with the necessary will , a disability can not stop the ability of a person to become an athlete of high performance. Reinertsen 2004 became the first woman with a leg amputee to complete the Ironman Triathlon World Championship , one of the most demanding sports events for high performance athletes .

The prosthesis for running Flex -Run I- ssur is now complemented with Nike Sole, a sole designed to slide the blade carbon fiber Flex -Run and provide better grip the athlete.

Most athletes , whether professional , using standard equipment, very few have access to equipment tailored to their needs or capabilities . That is the opposite of athletes with physical disabilities, as most equipment used must is tailored to each.

Since 2006, Nike has invested great amount of resources to change this and make the equipment more accessible to these athletes , launching its first product to market, called nike alone. This is a sole that is added to a prosthesis created by Ossur . The sole may be bonded in different ways to the prosthesis and is composed of 4 layers including iconic design and Bill Bowerman waffle sole for traction.

With this sole an amputee athlete can be placed immediately Run Flex Foot prosthesis and begin their exercises in 30 seconds. Not some complicated method of glue or adhesive tape needed, simply you register the sole and strap and ready.
